Someone asked me at work yesterday what kind of surgery I'm having.  It was not a situation where I could say "none of your business" and I just ended up blurting out "gall bladder surgery".  I don't feel bad about the lie since it really is MY business, but what if I lose a bunch of weight and really do have to have my gall bladder out later?  What will I say then!?  Lol

I think the best reply to that would be that it is personal and that you would prefer not to discuss it.  It's absolutely inappropriate for anyone (except the company/HR nurse) at work to ask you.

start telling people that you are having an extensive surgery for severe invasive hemorrhoids. I bet they leave you alone about it hahahahaha

Just tell them you're having a sex change operation.

That usually shuts them up!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

I have a "friend" I know that tried to say she first had hernia surgery then had to have gall bladder surgery. Really? People are not as stupid as she wants them to be. I have been very open and honest about my surgery. I know not everyone wants to be, but I embrace it..... That way people can not call me a liar or have more of a reason to talk about me.
