Pre-Op

What to expect during the preop visit?? My visit is scheduled for tomorrow.. Surgery Monday!!

Wen't to mine yesterday. my date is Nov 5th

Basically he had me sign a couple of papers.

We discussed what to expect after surgery and what i would be eating once i am home.

What all test were you given?

I already had a ekg and a chest xray back in June so they are good for 1 year.

The only thing i had to do was my blood work.  Luckily they did it right in the office last night.

Oh and he gave me my prescriptions for pain killers. We met in his office not an exam room so i was at ease! 

Okay... Well I havent had any of those test done... So Im sure I'll have to take those.. Im a little worried about the nicotine test.. Im a recent quitter.. But Im ready..

What I did is first the consult, then the diet appts (if your insur requires that?) the diet appts were a breeze cause the office doesnt really care if you lose any weight lol which I didnt.......

Then I had the EKG and chest xray and also I had to do a sleep study (not too fun but whatever) I had a few vials of blood drawn, and then finally I will be going into my nutrition class to get exactly what I am supposed to eat post op on the 31st and finally surgery on Nov 2nd!

It was really easy breezy and if I forgot to ask the doc anything I just called the office and they get back to me in less than a day.

This is the end...!! Surgery is Monday!!! This is my preop visit.!

My surgery is Monday too.Went fo rpre-op visit today. I was weighed,told clear liquid diet Sunday and which meds I could take morning of surgery. Also,they would call me Friday with my time. I was probably there 15 minutes. Good luck!!!
