Too soon to loose??
and im nervous that it may drop below 40 before i get my approval. How does this determination work? should I wait? If I loose too much w before can they deny me?
There are lots of things you can do to make recovery easier other than lose weight. Start exercising - even just walking. Clear crap food out of your house. Decide who and how much you're going to tell. Work on developing a habit of drinking more water. Start taking a good multivitamin.
We'll be saving you a seat on the loser's bench.

I would be very careful!...YOu do not want to let anything get in the way....and everyone's insurance is very different. I was about the same BMI pre-op as you....I lost 5 lbs...but not more! I wasn't going to risk it. I would be afraid of being denied if you lost too much..but that is just me!
good luck

I too would be very careful when it comes to the insurance company! Im pretty certain they only go off the initial weight, but WHAT IF???? You have come this far, whats a few more fat minutes? lol But if you are in the right mindset to start loosing, you can always go to your next Drs appointment with ankle weights on under your jeans! HAHA I must admit that I did that a time or two....
Most times it goes by the initial but, every once in a while people post they got denied surgery because of LOSING TOO MUCH. Go figure. I asked at my center and the surgeon, RN and insurance person where standing there and not one could answer the question of should I lose, gain or stay the same.
I figure it is the weight my PCP put on the data collection sheet. But, at just over 35 (un-banded and trying for a revision) and only high BP I'm not taking an chances either.
