WOW, WTF!

I'm with you. I found many things to complain about in this article.  The RNY as the only bariatric procedure is one, the brown rice is the other, blueberries and fruit on a regular basis is off too, and so is pork being a more fatty meat.  It depends on the cut of the pork, some pork is very lean.  This article is mostly fluff.  The whole site is "lite".

Just to be clear, I was not trying to "start anything". I find many issues with this article. Bariatric Surgery and RNY are the same thing as if it was the only option was my first gripe. To me it shows that the writer from a well respected resource did little to no research prior to putting this together. SO... its safe to say on my part the rest of the article was filled with inaccuracies. I too looked at many options prior to surgery and not one suggested Brown rice! That doesn't mean that we do not eat it. I have sushi at least once a week! Any way, the article lacked any substance other than that of Brown Rice of course. I shared it with all of you and of course you are entitled to your opinion.

Nothing but love,

Mario

i had the same reaction as you Mario and i agree with Elina on her points....i know if i ate a cup of brown rice a day, not only would i be craving carbs like crazy but i'd NEVER lose weight...same with the fruit...maybe on maintenance or years out but even then i think i'd have problems!
