The wait begins!

This is my first post.  I have been reading the boards and they have been very helpful.  My 41 pages of paperwork were faxed to the insurance company yesterday morning.  My doctor's office won't make an appointment until the approval comes back.  I really want to get it scheduled and done before Christmas so that I have time to recoup.  I really have mixed feelings about letting others know that I am doing this surgery.  My doctors, my husband and my kids are supportive but I don't want to hear any negative feedback from others.  I know I am doing this for the right reasons (my health) and I have tried other options but even though I can put up a strong front, and I also know that this is not the EASY way out.  I just don't think I can handle anything negative right now and won't have good responses to the negative people.

The only thing you have to tell people is that you are having abdominal surgery.  According to my NUT this isn't the easy way out.  The tuff stuff comes at the beginning.

You don't have to tell anyone you are having WLS.  Even your job isn't entitled to know what you will need time off for.  You can tell them you are having surgery but that is all they need to know.
