Calcium Citrate

What are some suggestions for Calcium Citrate?  I'm a sissy when it comes to chewing nasty pills - and everything that taste good appears to have a ton of carbs.

Thanks for your help!

Bariatric advantage has a chew (like viactiv, but the good calcium and not all the sugar) that tastes decent -I get caramel and lemon favors.  But check with your doc-if you are not far out from your surgery they may not like the idea of a chew vs. a crumbly chewable. Bariatric advantage also has regular chewable calcium I think that's not too bad-but a little spendy.  The chews can be ordered through amazon, or on BAs site.

I now get my calcium from Tums.  I enjoy the taste and it helps with the minor acid reflux I have sometimes.

no,it is not the right kind of calcium. Tums are calcium carbonate and we absorb that poorl or not at all. good catch!

use it for the acid ,if you like, but Tums are calcium carbonate and we need calcium citrate. Look on the bottle. we absorb calcium carbonate poorly or not at all,so you are effectively not getting any calcium when you use Tums.

I was told Tums for three months after VSG. 2000 mg a day. They are easy to chew up and taste ok.

Celebrate also has a sugar-free soft chew that is pretty tasty.  I have the Berry flavor and the Caramel.  Celebrate also has a multivitamin and calcium drink mix that comes in packets similar to Crystal Light.  The flavors aren't that great, but they can either be diluted more, or you can add some of your favorite Crystal Light or Mio to it.  It ups your fluid intake, and even has a bit of fiber, which can be difficult to get enough of in food in the amounts we're eating.
