I do agree with this. My mom couldn't stop me from sneaking food into my room late at night when everyone else was asleep and binge eating. It's not her fault.

I'm not trying to be ugly, it's just my opinion. Well all know what opinions are like right? We all have them.

To expand a bit I will add that if you are obese or morbidly obese under the age of 6 your parents have FULL control. After that age it gets harder understandably. Of course there are always exceptions and no one is perfect. I see it on a daily basis though. Little kids between 2-4 years old sucking down a coca-cola when they are are already morbidly obese. It's a sad reality that too many people see nothing wrong with that.

I also completely agree with this! I am a mother to a 4yr old boy and I pay A LOT of attention to what my son eats. Lucky for me he loves healthy foods. In fact he's been on the other scale, he's a lightweight. Only 35lbs at almost 5yrs old. It's because he LOVES to eat green beans, salad, fruit and other healthy things! He hasn't and will not drink soda under my watch!

I'm glad the children get the "benefit" of the entire show ie not being eliminated and humiliated by having to "show their fat" all over the TV for us viewers to gawk at.  While I LOVE the show, I also see how HARD the trainers can be and have read some "horror" behind the scenes info on the show...sooooo with that said hmmmm I'm going to watch the show.  I believe that some good does come for MANY who are on the show.  Some people learn LIFELONG and get to be part of the 5% who lose weight through diet and exercise AND keep it off.

I think childhood and obesity are hard enough without adding the artifical setting, forced drama, overexposure, and public judgment that come with a reality show.

There's got to be a better way to nurture and nourish our kids to healthy and happy lives.
