Iron Supplement

My doctor told me at my 2 month check-up that I was anemic and needed to increase my iron intake. I've taken Slow Fe in the past (pre-VSG) and it hurt my stomach. I picked up some Comfort Iron at Vitamin Shoppe but I think its making me nauseous and contributing to constipation. Anyone have any suggestions for an iron supplement with similar reactions to iron?

Thanks,

Amy

Well I am having a hard time with anything solid as far as supplements go so I got everything I needed in liquid form. The company/product is called Wellesse and it works great for me. Multi-Calcium-Iron-B12 all comes in liquid. Go their website and check it out.

Godd luck.

Hugs,

I found this earlier response to your question when I googled "easy to digest iron supplements"!  I was looking for the name of the one I took a long time ago, but I didn't find it -- but this might be useful!

My doctor told to take Nature Made Iron 65 mg Equivalent to 325 mg Ferrous Sulfate 2 tablets a day in the evening and it is Formulated for Easy Absorption. I also take 2 Flintstones Complete Chewables, 1 NAture Made Chewable C Vitamin 500 mg (which helps absorbs the Iron) or I can talk the soft gel/liquid kind). I also take a Vitamin B12 500 mcg once a day.
