Deep breaths hurt

along with my back and side pain it hurts when i breath in deeply. is this all normal?

No, it's not normal. Don't want to scare you, but pain when breathing can be a sign of a pulmonary embolism. GOt to the ER NOW!

Yes.  The gas they inflate your belly with irritates the diaphragm.  Will take a few weeks to dissipate.  Walking is the best cure.

If they gave you a spirometer thingy (with the little balls in the bottom) blow that every hour.It really helps.

I had this kind of pain for 2 weeks near my diaphragm with very deep breathing, which of course I was doing a lot of because you are supposed to. I mentioned it to my dr and she was not worried about it. I think it came from the effect of anesthesia on the diaphragm coupled with all the manipulation of organs during surgery.

I have this pain too. I was told it was just gas bubbles.

I have this pain too, and believe it is normal and will go away. But if you're having more than achey pain, you could check with your doctor.
