Hello fellow sleevers. I had the sleeve done on December 6th. My recovery is going well i walked alot in the hospital. Here is my question about how long can you not trust a fart after surgery? I had gall bladder removed as well. Just wanted to add my amazing wife stayed at the hospital the whole time and impressed the nurses with her support.

OMG you had me laughing. I didn't have much of a prob after the first 3 or 4 days but I had to laugh because my husband had the surgery on December 3rd and when I read him your post he said, "So true, so true. " He still doesn't have trust : )

Kudos to you and your wife and hang in there. The farther along you go the more you will have the opposite problem (in my opinion : ) because so little fiber.

No...you really don't want to wish for the opposite.... I had two bouts of almost impacted cement like constipation during the first week after surgery and that was definitely not fun at all...since then thank God everything has been normal but those two bouts scared me a lot and to think that would be my new normal was pretty horrible. Embrace those untrustworthy farts!

LOL! I would say about 2 weeks. I am 4 weeks out and had a "dont trust a fart" moment today though. I haven't had that for about 2 weeks now. I think it was this soft protein bar I ate.

The Fart Rule as I see it:

As long as you are in the Liquid In, Liquid Out stage all farts are risky! Once you hit purees, softs and then solids it gets better and better. Eventually, you'll be begging for the ****s again. The constipation is what kills me th most with this surgery and eating plan that follows.

Never overtrust a fart!! Never!! Liquid in-liquid out. Don't trust it!
