Anyone had this early post-op? Feeling something stuck in my throat...

I had surgery 10 days ago, and yesterday afternoon I started having the feeling if something "stuck" in my throat - in the upper part of my esophagus. Felt something like when you get part of a popcorn kernel stuck.

I just transitioned to full liquids, so it's definitely not something *actually* stuck, and it seems worse when I drink (but it doesn't stop me from getting fluids in).

Has anyone experienced this before or know what it might be? It's just really irritating and I'm hoping it doesn't get worse.

The day after the surgery i had that feeling and it was because of the intubation during the surgery. all i can say is that if this is the case with you, it could be a delayed reaction to the intubation.

That is EXACTLY what happened to me at about 7 weeks post-op.  The next day it was worse, it was my esophagus.  I had an extreme case of esophogitis!  Call your doc and get on carafate.  I'd be willing to bet that's what the problem is.  Good luck!
