So how long after surgery before I can eat at McDonalds again?
The big joke over in the Ontario section is how many people have heard people wanting to or admitting to pureeing pizza. Nothing wrong with the toppings (if you order correctly) for a slice. It's the crust that will kill you. And then there's the quinoa pizza bites that make the world a happier place so why bother with pizza.
Seriously though... There is an option and a choice everywhere. It is all in how we make the choice...
If I really want a "Big Mac" I'll make myself a burger with extra lean meat, a bit of cheese 1/2 melted on top and I will make "Mac sauce" and dip my fork in the sauce, and cut the little bites up and eat it. When I am in maintenance.
FYI... My orientation session was 1/2 a block from McDonalds and you know I sat there with my very reasonable selection thinking "this is my last time here" after we left... And watched 1/2 of the group go through the drive through and only 1 other had the moxy to come in to order.

The ones I had were on a sheet and cut into pieces as the person making them found they would stick but if you got one of those silicone muffin tin liner sheets... they would pop right out.
*looks all innocent*
I am all about making the world work for ME... 7 years of extreme allergy living has made me work to find what I want in a flavour that works so...
Pizza inspires thoughts of these, and I am totally going to make pizza egg bites at some point.
Yeah pureed pizza sounds vile...
Your post was the first post I opened this morning, made me laugh. I have to learn to pick my battles and just continue to pass on posts where I don't think I can really help. After years of posts about bagels, donuts, and pasta, I sometimes lose it a bit. It passed, today is a better day. Sorry for the sarcasm yesterday, I really try to be good, yesterday was not one of my best days. I really do get that this is a very hard change for people to make, and that it's a process. I get it, but sometimes the devil on my shoulder gets a hold of me and I get a bit snarky.
Made me laugh! :O) Just thankful for the helpful nutrition information I have been given over the years and especially over the past few months. I do not always make the right choice, but I am also truthful with myself. I think owning up to what you are putting in your body and knowing what it does to you is a learning process we all go through. Thankfully, being gluten free, McD's is not an option for me anymore, but I do have to admit to having eaten some of their ice cream on a hot summers day. :O)
If it helps anyone, I have a friend who sells Shaklee that has carried a McD's hamburger with her, just in a zip lock bag, no refrigeration (no cheese or condiments on it either), for over 12 years now. It has no mold on it and looks exactly the same, just smaller because it has dried up. But it has never decomposed. Makes you wonder why? Any food that is good for your body will decay. Another example, Twinkies, they never decay either, or the 70 year old wedding cake topper that my friend's grandparents kept. Wouldn't want to eat that, but it certainly didn't decay either. :O)
Listening to our bodies gets easier, when we actually pay attention to them. :O)

“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM
