VSG on 11/05/12

PPI stands for proton pump inhibitor like Nexium. Anti-acid pill basically.  You take it right after VSG to help protect your new "tummy" or if you have reflux problems.

My surgeon prescribed a PPI before surgery and then when I went in for my 4-week post op checkup he said I had lost enough weight that I could stop taking it, which I did.

I noticed a few days later that I was slightly nauseated a great part of the day (but not right after eating).  I thought maybe nausea was my "new hungry".

After about a week and a half of this I decided to take the PPI again each morning. NO MORE nausea.  So, needless to say I'll stay with the PPI!
