Fell off the wagon and was dragged behind it ...
I had VSG sugery 18 months ago. I lost 82 lbs. Since then, I have regained about 20 lbs. I returned to my old way of eating. Now, i feel powerless to stop. I know my stomach has stretched as I can eat much more than I could initially. I'm afraid all of this was done in vain. Is it possible to reshrink my stomach?

I don't think your stomach has stretched back out as much as healed - the swelling has gone down - that is normal. None of us stay eating the same at 1 year out as we did at 1 month out - it just doesn't happen.
That being said - you need to get back on program. Maybe start by doing the 5 day pouch test (google it). It is a 5 day plan that gets the carbs out of your system and lets you see how much restriction you have. You do all liquid one day, then mushies... it might be a good way for you to climb back on the wagon. Once on there, it is time to get back on your nutritionist's program - start measuring and tracking. Eat proteins first then veggies. limit carbs, don't drink your calories.
You can do this!
Although some have good results with the 5,day thing, I did not. I just couldn't get past lunch & that made me feel even more of a failure.
Here is what is working for me. I understand I am addicted to food. Go cold turkey & have 60/80 protein, 20 or less carbs and start drinking water. Also get 600-800 cal a day.
Every day that you do this will make it easier cuz the carbs w b out of your system.
My restriction is totally awesome now.
Just eat clean for one day & the next day w b easier.
I was sleeved June 2009 & regained over 55 lbs.
you got this.
No, you cannot "reshrink" a stomach.
What you can do is make a commitment to a life change, realize that you will have to eat differently for the rest of your life, and stay on plan. There is no "diet". Diets are temporary. Focus on changing the way you live and let go of your old eating habits.
Good luck.
