I don't know why but I really want to eat right now. Something crunchy, something bad. I feel hungry.

Me too, dude. Me too.  I'm gonna have a few almonds and get on the exercise bike and see if I can pedal the demons away.

I'm not sure which is worse--knowing you want to eat some carbs or thinking you want to EAR some carbs.

Disturbing, that last one. ;-)

Crunch on a carrot? (I'm a fine one to talk. I've eaten way too many nuts lately.)

I think it's worse knowing but it's marginal.

Hi Kevin,

I have been reading your posts and learning a lot from you.  I don't know if this will have any value for you but here is what works for me when I get carb-starved.

I haven't touched a slice of bread, potatoes, or any starches since September.  When I get that feeling I get the ceasar side salad at Wendy's with the red jalapeno dressing( 2 carbs).  It comes with a  pack of croutons that are yummy and only 4 carbs. I eat them very slowly like letting them melt on my tongue. That usually works to satisfy my carb cravings.

Fortunately I don't get these cravings too often since I started keepeing my carbs under 20 gm a day.  I have noticed that If I eat a too-low fat diet I will get these cravings more often and can usually get rid of them by eating a couple of slices of bacon or some full fat cheddar cheese.  Walmart sells generic brand pre-cooked bacon that is so thin you can read the newspaper through it , OK not really, but it is extremely thin.  You microwave it on a paper towel for 20 seconds and it's completely crispy with no flabby stuff. Yum.

Carol
