I know I am only 1 week out and am on a full liquid diet, but when or should I start to feel full? Thanks, Amanda

I didn't start feeling restriction until about 6 weeks out, basically once I was on solids. The nerve endings were still healing, so the only thing I felt was gurgling for a while.

When you hit real food.  There's no real restriction on liquids or purees.  By the time you hit soft foods (or whatever your progression calls for), be prepared.  It hits, and it hits very fast.  Your head will not want to stop eating, but your stomach will - and your stomach will win.

If you are measuring and eating only a measured portion of food, you may not feel really "full" until you accidentally overeat -- or get close -- or eat too fast, etc.  I didn't really feel a lot of restriction until I was on super dense food -- and accidentally ate too much (a measuring mistake) -- and boy, it hit like a brick!

But as long as you are eating anything that is liquid, pureed, semi-soft, the food passes through your stomach pretty quick -- that's why as you get farther out, you have to be really careful about foods that get chewed up into an almost liquid form!  You can eat a lot of them and not feel full!

When you start eating!

Seriously, right now focus on your fluids.  When you get to soft foods and take your first bite of scrambled egg, (if you are like most of us) you will FEEL your restriction!
