I think the honeymoon is over

Well I heard it would happen but I think the honeymoon is over. Today I had my first legitimate feelings of hunger. Nothing like they used to be of course, but they are there. I was hoping it was just stomach acid but I took some pills and yep still there. I am reasonably certain it is not head hunger either. I have nothing stressful going on, I am not perplexed by any problems, these were my normal "hunger" triggers before. I have been drinking water all day so I know its not thirst. I ate my lunch about 3 hours ago so I should be good. I think this is actual hunger. I haven't had a lot of carbs today or yesterday for that matter so I don't think its a craving. The upside is I do not have anything at my desk to snack on so I can ride this out. I hope I am wrong but I think 5 months out is about the time, right?

It doesn't mean the homeymoon is over, does it? Hunger doesn't have to be a bad thing. It just tells you when you need to fuel up. It doesn't dictate your choices for you. You have done so well thus far, no reason for the honeymoon to stop! Just remember, you are now in comtrol.

I am not tempted to make bad choices here. It was just nice to not feel hungry. That was my big problem before surgery is that I would eat an entire meal and then some and still feel hungry or feel hungry 5 minutes later. Just like a real marriage once the honeymoon is over is when the real work begins.

I don't know...I am still honeymooning 20 years after the wedding! True its work. But pleasure is directly proportional to effort exerted. So...more effort = more pleasure. Same with the sleeve, same with anything in life. Elbow grease is where its at!!! You might also find that these feelings of hunger go away. I thought mine were also coming back but it was a couple of days and then no hunger again since then.

Yep! It's about that time! You are very determined and will do great. Keep quest protein bars, jerky, chicken, etc. available so that when you do get hungry you don't just "grab" something, which is what I was always used to doing. It's very hard to get out of that habit. Sometimes it's good to be little hungry too.

Hunger is not a bad thing.  In fact, I rather enjoy getting hungry because it makes my food taste better.  It was when I was not hungry when I ate too much of the wrong things.

Your hunger can be satisfied with the right foods.  You know how to do it ,and your small stomach will be the help you didn't have before.

I guess you all are different thn me because I have had hunger since 6 weeks out.  When I get hungry I eat.  This morning I had all protein for breakfast and was hungry 2 hours later so ate tuna salad and was quite full.  I am 3 months out.
