Sip, walk, rest, repeat ...

As the days go by the pain should subside.  Even the walking will help over time.

My surgeon told me the first month is the toughest.  Hang in there, it will get better.

Congrats on being sleeved!

Sugar free popsicles saved me.  I had several each day following surgery for the first week.  My new tummy didn't like water, but it was ok with the sf popsicles.

Have you talked to your surgeon about the pain?  Mine was pretty serious about not wanting me to be in much pain and worked on my pain meds to make sure I was comfortable, since that's helps with healing.  If the pain is worse than a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 they probably need to increase or adjust your meds to make you more comfortable...You probably won't need any of that after the first few days, but your ability to walk the first week is pretty important to get stuff moving around!

I am 6 days out and Day 2 was the worst for me.  I had to ask for better pain meds from my surgeon. Keep on top of the pain meds and walk and move.  My incision sites still hurt.  It will get better!

I understand completely. I had a lot of pain the first week too. It was awful trying to stand up or get out of the bed. I think the 4th day was the hardest for me. I am now 2 weeks 2 days out and still feel some discomfort at my two largest incisions. Good news is it is 98% better. I was very jealous reading these boards and hearing everyone say that they felt great after 2 days. Just take your pain meds and drink as much as you can. It will get better very soon.

Be sure to keep ahead of your pain, and take the Rx as long as you need too. Then remember you just had major surgery and you need res****er and walking. Take care...

I agree with everyone who says your pain meds should be increased or changed.

I was so lucky not to experience any pain. The 2 days I was in the hospital(in Mexico) Dr. Kelly had a every 6 hour pain regime by Iv. On day 3 I needed nothing.Hang in there and call your doctor.
