You can totally change it up next time though... *gentle hugs* Sorry if I come off strong on this one I just don't want any of us to fall into our old traps when we can go with better options.

A cheese string, or stick & and apple or orange is really handy to have on hand.

Do you guys have laughing cow like we do? Laughing cow light in celery tastes like cheese whiz in celery only better. Light cream cheese works too but is higher in fat...

Yes, we have the LC cheese.  I eat the reduced-fat French Onion flavor almost every day.  :)

OMG! ROAD TRIP NEEDED!

The stores near me only stock the regular in light. Anything flavoured is full fat.

*sits here and eyes her passport and wonders if it would be nutty to drive 3 hours for LC*

I have to say honestly I will never come here and admit to a failure! How sad that people cant see when someone is fessing up to doing something bad and making a plan to do everything he can to rectify the situation. He isn't doing this daily and he isn't advocating for it he is simply holding himself accountable and discussing what happened. Personally I Iearned more about what to keep in mind should I get invited to a wine tasting so that I could avoid this error. As for eating 1/3 of a slice of pizza what if he didn't have juice with him or another acceptable alternative that this board approves of. Would you recommend he fall over from the shakes?

This is a support board. It is here to support people when they are doing well and when they make mistakes. If I wanted a place to come and get a high five every day I would find a Your so awesome your **** don't stink board.

Reality is that none of us live in a bubble. We will make mistakes and we will survive them. Most likely we will learn from them. If you honestly think that you are going to live your next 60 years and never have a slip up or just have a really bad day and intentionally screw up then I think you need to question your version of reality.

Before you jump on board and hang me as a newbie I fully admit I am no angel and I am learning from my own mistakes. I am not saying it is wrong to point out where he went wrong but how about doing it constructively. This doesn't seem constructive it seems belittling. I certainly know that I wont be posting the post I intended to post today about my recent failures. I dont think I could emotionally handle what is being called advice on here.

I think people were harder on me because I offer advice frequently. Not that my escapades yesterday should take away the credibility of my advice. But I think people want this process to be fast and golden, they think that this process has an end. It doesn't. Call it maintenance or goal or whatever, there is no end to this, its a lifelong process. We need to learn how to handle regular life things.

I am thrilled by the number of people who chimed in on this but I agree that I don't understand the anger and nastiness that comes out because I didn't fit perfectly into a plan.

There are a lot people don't know about my day yesterday but they jump to conclusions because I opened with a provocative title. Two of the 4 things I ate at this dinner were lean protein and naturally low carb. The "dessert" I had was a cake about the size of a medium sized cookie, which would amount to about 1/3 of the size of a piece of cake. The fourth thing was vegetarian. Fairly healthy foods. I didn't stuff myself and I ran yesterday. I didn't drink enough wine to get drunk.

Anyway I appreciate the feed back. I actually had one guy block me because of it and unfortunately could not read the response from slimpickens so if anyone on here can see it if you could copy and paste it into another response for me I would like to read it.

I was just thinking the same thing, these lambasting posts drive people further into their addiction.  Keith is right when he says that he is the one who will benefit or suffer from his actions.  If you can't come here and speak your truth, what good is this place.  It is not just for people who are always successful at weight loss.  Obviously, since we felt the need to have WLS, most of us don't know all of the answers all of the time.  We learn through are own experiences, not anyone elses.

I admire anyone who can stick to a severe diet for months or even longer to lose a bunch of weight and never falter.  They set examples, but by no means do they rule the universe. There is no handbook that comes with this surgery that says that is the only way or even the best way.

It is taking me a long time to get to a goal that I may never achieve.  But you know what?  I am healthy and I think I look damn good.  I appreciate and celebrate every lb I lose, no matter how long it takes to lose it.  I am not beating myself up over it or crying into my protein drink.

Thanks for your post.  It is right on.

So I am actually feeling that this was directed at me personally when I wasn't mean, rude or even belittling him over his choices. I did question them, and offer healthier alternatives, some advice and some information I am fortunate to possess from my own life experiences. With some tongue in cheek thrown in because I am just sassy this week.

None of us are perfect and if you actually went back to my first post I own my own "stuff" right there and expressed why I was concerned with the overall numbers...

But if I'm suppose to be all sunshine and rainbows shooting out of my butt and saying... "AWESOME job having pizza!" Instead of saying... These would have worked the same or better.

I think I'll stick to the Ontario forum where we call it like it is, offer true support and occasionally a swift kick in the behind.

I can tell you point blank if I went over there and posted that I had maxed out my caloric intake by an additional 916 calories for my day... Those whom I have come to love and adore would either show up at my home, or be blowing up my phone, as well as posting to say "WHAT are you doing?! You can do this BETTER!"

The way the first post was written at first did seem like Keith was validating and justifying his actions. He actually said he expected the kick in the arse in one of his posts.

Quite frankly... I'd be kind of pissed if Keith, Elina, Frisco, Mac, and many others from the VSG forum and the Ontario forum where I have developed friendships didn't give me a swift kick in the proverbial arse if I made a post of this nature and tell me I can do better (because we all know I can... WE ALL CAN).

Goodness knows I had to pull my head out of my arse and reach for support last night because I nearly blew a perfect day right after having a huge scale victory. I just have many places for an outlet and someone talked me through an hour of craving a food. I just posted about the desire to do something dumb before doing it.

Please don't leave.

I can imagine everyone sitting around a big table, water bottles in hand, hashing this out.  That's kind of what this forum is like.

Interestingly that is the visual I often get in my head when in this section.

It is one I see often at my local support group meetings. *soft smile* I'm one of only a couple VSGers but it's very much like that! Only make it coffee and tea for about half of us. *grin*
