Hi Miranda!!!!

Hugs to youwink!!!  We corresponded prior to surgery......Mine was same day as yours.....I am so very sorry to hear of your complications......I too have been in the hospital for dehydration since.....I can honestly agree with you that I haven't yet felt normal since 2/20 either.....I have been fortunate enough to not have any major complications and I am wishing you the same from here on out.......I still can't eat too much, but drinking has gotten much better....I purchased a ice shaver machine with some sugar free syrup...my nutritionist said that is a great idea since dehydration is an issue.....Maybe that can help for you to......I've lost more weight on my preop diet than since I've been home, and this has also got me wondering if this was worth it......I have been to a support group which I found comforting.......This has been an experience so far....but the consensus is that in time, it will get better.....You will be in my prayers......Peace and Blessings to you!

The ice shaver is SUCH a great idea. I'm so sorry you ended up back in the hospital for dehydration. I have been in twice. It honestly wouldn't suprise me if I ended up there for the third time. I'm going to have to look into the ice machine.... Prayers to you as well. I can't wait to feel normal again :/

My Mom has had C. diff twice. It is horrible. You are in my prayers. And don't forget to ask your doc about probiotics. They really helped my Mom get well.

Oh dear, sounds really horrible.  We have got to get you better.  Are you able to hold any food down?  There are certain foods that are better than others for nausea.  Apples, saltines, pears, potatoes may stay down better than some others.  Please try to get some nourishment.  Sip sip sip, flat gingerale if that is all that will stay down.

Keep us posted, I hope you feel better real soon.

I've tried saltine but they are so dry they are challenging to get down. NOTHING sounds/tastes good. It's extremely difficult getting anything in me. It's even challenging just taking my medication. After I take my meds I feel sick.....funny because they are mostly anti nausea meds. Ugh. Miserable. Thanks for the advice.

Just said a Hail Mary for you.....the Blessed Mother has never failed me yet. When I am sick, I always find comfort in her. I hope you feel better soon. If this makes you feel any better, I developed pneumonia right after surgery (due to intubation) and I stayed in the hospital an extra 2 days. My heart rate was so high that I was confined to my bed for much of that time. Things will get better....we are all here cheering for you.
