I have the same problem with chicken. I am 6 months out and I am hoping this will pass. Not that I love chicken all that much, just would like to change it up once in a while.

I had a hard time with chicken for a long time! Eggs too. My stomach wouldn't tolerate anything but freaking yogurt. But now chicken and eggs are fine. But that stupid hamburger patty still likes to hurt me.  I actually don't eat as much red meat anymore. I stick with mostly chicken and eggs.

I can't tolerate beef, either.  Chicken I've always been fine with.  Oddly, hard-boiled egg whites don't sit well, but egg whites fried in a spray of Pam sit just fine.  Weird.

Thanks for the info -- please post your review of these are you try them!  I'm going to visit the vegetarian kid and his girlfriend next week, so who knows what new delights I'll be having!  My son is a great cook, and there are some great restaurants where he is (in fact, we visited with him over Thanksgiving when I was a week post-op) -- so I'm expecting some good eats!

I LOVE them! I do that sometimes. Especially at work, I do the chicken (fake chicken) and make a little chicken parm out of it. Delish and easy!

I'm a carnivore and prefer real beef to veggie burgers, but Morningstar was the brand I used to eat when I thought they were better for me.  For me, they were like a lot of things--dependent on what you put on them. I can see that putting pizza sauce and cheese on them would be tasty, but now I'm thinking of doing that on a regular beef patty. Thanks for the idea!

Oh trust me so do I. I kinda wish these had more fiber (we can always use a little more of that). But I like to have an all veggie day once in a while.

I had suggested VSG to a friend without realizing she's vegetarian and has been all her life. Her parents are, too. I'm not sure how anybody could manage, frankly.

What I can't stand are the flatouts!  They taste awful to me.  Its like a sweet, grainy aftertaste that I just can't take.  I tried making pizzas with them and was so excited at first taste but then that aftertaste hit me.  Its like it leaves a slimy feeling in my mouth. IDK... I know its the flatout cus I tried it as a wrap too but the taste was so overpowering.  I use low carb tortillas now and the taste isn't there.  Maybe it was the kind of flatout I got? not sure...

I agree they are not great, but once in a while its nice to have that to wrap some tuna in or something to make it like there is some bread involved. I understand the Italian ones are pretty good but I haven't tried them yet.
