What vets rant about.
I agree. I find it very unfortunate that when people make it through something this difficult successfully they suddenly forget what they surely went through before the weight loss. I guess for me I was much more confident when I was thinner and now at times I need to hear that something is ok or that it should be done this way. I read these boards every day and although I haven't had the sleeve yet I am trying to get as much information as possible. I write down foods/recipes when I see them that I might like so I don't forget them but that doesn't mean that maybe one day I will ask something and then remember this post where others thought I was stupid or ridiculous for asking!!!! Doesn't make it a very safe place. Sad, because I am sure there are many people who will quit asking questions and could potentially suffer complications because they don't think they have a "good enough" question for some of the "vets".
For me personally I thought that is what the VSG board was for...to ask questions. It doesn't matter how many times a question has been answered because it is by different people and maybe they just had a minute to jump on and ask and then wait for the answer in their e-mail. How do we know????
Maybe there should be a general discussion board so that people don't get offended on the VSG board with people asking questions about the VSG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a general discussion board and they tend to be far less forgiving than the VSG folks. Good luck though.
When I was on Atkins, the Atkins board had "pinned" posts, as well as a section for for common questions. It was very, very helpful, and I was surprised that this board doesn't have the same thing.
I have found that the Search feature is sometimes screwed up in Chrome, so I can't search for a topic. And the board isn't fully supported in IE -- so overall, I think this board is not structured to support some very common board functions -- but there is a wealth of great info here -- so you kind of take the good with the bad!
Actually, the Atkins Board was free -- and it didn't have nearly the amount of advertising this board has. So technically, I think this board is generating a LOT of income, and that income is not being invested in technology options that are commonly found on other boards!
So, I'd have to disagree on that one!
I actually find this board entertaining and informative! Great post Ruggie! I actually like reading the good and the negative or real comments. Everyone responds differently to different types of responses so while you might find one person's comments to be rude or negative, another person might find it direct and to the point. If this forum became a "touchy feely" sight like the support group in my town, I would stop visiting. The only thing that I do not like is when people make personal attacks against other people, that is uncalled for.
Welcome to everyone!
You are absolutely correct. I know at some point most of us have asked these questions. I have had some I have kept to myself for fear of sounding like an idiot. But I am sure I have posted some that are the same ol' repetitive questions you have mentioned. This was too funny. Thanks for the smiles!!
