Questions about gettingVSG after having a nissen surgery for reflux

I am just in the process of looking into having surgery and I have come up with a problem where some surgeons won't touch me because I have had this Nissen in 2007.  Has anyone had it done? I have found someone in mexico that will do it but it isn't the dr that was recommended to me.. it would be with Dr's Cabrera and Valenzuela.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated

This is a big, big, big issue.  Post on the DS Forum.  There was a man named Walter who tried to have WLS for years and was rejected by most all of the better known surgeons - even mine.  There is also a woman who has this nissen fundiplication (that how it is spelled?) - she has an RNY and I believe that she has had lots of troubles - not sure if they are related to the surgeries.  Anyway, no way I would go outside of the states to have this done.  If something goes wrong, noone here will know what to do with you.  I am pretty sure that Dr. Anthone finally did Walter's Sleeve/DS.

look in the search box here and see what you come up with when you look up nissen.

All Best,

Thank you, I will look for that info,  I am from canada so I either wait 5-10 years or I go to mexico.

I had the VSG with prior Nissen performed in Mexico, Sept 2011.  I left you a message in your inbox.  Lots to talk about.  Call me.

I believe it can sometimes be done. But they have to be able to "take down" the nissen. And no way I'd have that kind of revision done by someone who didn't have a ton of experience and come with a boatload of recommendations.
