Is it OK to drink coffee with almond milk, no protein powder?

I was a huge fan (pre-surgery) of International coffee creamer. I quit it but I did begin drinking coffee again. My surgeon told me I could as long as my stomach could tolerate it. I drink flavored coffee though. Seattle's Best, hazelnut. Love it. I tried the SF torani flavoring. Hated it. I don't like an after taste. SO...I learned to like it without creamer and I still love coffee! I haven't had any problems at all with my stomach. Unsweetened almond milk should not be bad as long as you don't over do and count it. I use the unflavored almond milk to mix my protein drinks.

it's fine as long as you cna get your protein in elsewhere.  My nurse brought up coffee when i visited this week.  she said that coffee counts as water if it's decaf, but not if the cafinated.  Seems a silly distinction to me, but whatever.  I've read some recent journal articles that show that coffee w/ caffine does NOT act like a diuretic (net fluid out is the same) thought it increases the urgency of the output.

so think you are set.  I've been having half or one cup a day for a couple days now.  it's a nice treat.

Sure. Coffee is just not great for women. The caffeine messes with your hormones. Check out a book called the Fat Flush Plan. It goes into a fair amount of detail on why it is o bad for women.

I drink regular coffee (16-32 oz) every day with either sugar free creamer or half & half.  I also drink more than 100oz of other liquids, so my RD and Dr are both ok with this.  Check with your Dr, but as long as your drinking plenty of other fluids you should be ok.
