So Hungry Today

In my extremely hungry days: I eat chicken and lots of it. Those are the days I'll make a batch of chicken salad w. greek yogurt, cucumber and a little citrus and just reach for that whenever I'm STARVING. Usually after a few bites, I'm fine. and I don't feel bad about eating a lot of it because it is relatively low in calories.

but as others have said: avoid the fruit and quest bars. It's not really going to fill you up...

OMG! What kind of quest bars are you all eating? I went to GNC looking for a protein bar for a snack. I remember reading people were eating quest bars. So I saw apple pie, strawberry cheesecake, vanilla almond and pb &j. I was like ooooooo. I opened the vanilla almond first because I love vanilla. It was not good at all. So I spit it out and opened the strawberry cheesecake...yuk. Am I missing something? Did I get the wrong ones?

The cookie dough, banana nut, brownie, and coconut cashew are my favorites. You did get the wrong ones.

cookie dough quest bars...freaking amazing! I thank God for these! Literally LOL they don't trigger me and it fits into my plan b/c I can eat one usually for a meal (breakfast if that's all I eat or dinner when I go through my phases that I don't eat much in the evening) and I still fit it in below my calories (800-1200) for the day.

Tasty protein snacks like deviled eggs, shrimp with a little horseradish sauce, chicken wings,  lunchmeat and cheese roll-ups, etc.  I find that when I am really hungry like this if I eat more small protein meals, that usually helps.  Also, lots of water in between.  With your workout schedule, I am not surprised that you are hungry.  Your body is craving nourishment and vitamins alone won't cut it.

I buy the package of the john soules fajita beef strips for days like those.  If I saute them for a couple minutes with a little olive oil, it keeps me full for hours for very little calories, 0 carbs and lots of protein.

I had one of those days yesterday and didn't make the best choices.

Pizza is definitely a trigger for me. I have made the mistake twice of eating a piece and its not worth it. When you get to full food you will be able to eat the toppings off which is not quite as satisfying but it does help. Just keep it to a minimum, especially if it is a trigger.

You are not pathetic. You are strong! A pathetic person would have not have had WLS and sat around eating that pizza and wondering why they were fat! You are on the right path. Stay the course, follow the program, make the necessary changes. You will continue to obsess about food, you just have to find the right ways to cope and deal with it.

Thanks Keith!
As they were eating, I obsessively googled carb free pizza
And found a pizza where the crust is made of mozzerella and
Parmesan...worth a try when I'm ready!

If you're pathetic then so was I during my first few weeks. I wasn't hungry at all, but I'd ask my husband, "May I just SMELL your supper?" Fortunately for me my hubby is very tolerant. lol
