I'll be straight up with you.... cause I know you can take it..... it's not just this one post...... it's starting to look like a pattern....
You have done "great" overall........ the question is..... if you want to finish what you started...

Oh, I am going to finish what I started. I wouldn't say the bad eating days are a pattern. I have had a few in 8 mos, but what seems to be an emerging pattern is hunger and that really concerns me. I mean I lost another 4lbs this week, so I am certainly on the right track, but I am beginning to see how the farther out you get the harder it is to always do the right thing.
Thanks man! I appreciate the pep talk. The upside is that I don't have any bad foods in the house so at least I was able to control things at home. I made what I thought was a good choice at dinner and what I should have done when I realized it was made with sugar was instead of sort of scraping the sauce off, I should have just ordered something else. I am sure I will be fine but its the making the wrong decision that makes me mad at myself. I have another 5K this weekend, I am sure I will keep up the downward slope of my weight chart, but it just seems like it should be easier and all it really is is easier to make mistakes and be overconfident.
I think the hunger is a natural and expected response to dropping 4 lbs fast and all that exercise you do. I get super hungry on days when I have just dropped or am about to drop more than a pound. I get monster hungry. Now I am trying to revel in it knowing that I am probably on the verge of something good!
Keith, I think your slips happen the most in restaurants. Maybe you can have a plan of attack when eating out....committing to someone what you will eat, having some support before walking in the place. In 12 Step groups it is called Book-ending. You call someone before, and after. You call someone before, maybe someone from this Forum, and say, "I am going to go in and order the chicken breast with steamed veggies". You do it, then call the same person when you walk out of the restaurant after you have eaten 7 bites of the chicken and 5 bites of the steamed veggies. And avoid Chinese restaurants, dude!
Just a thought ;-)
I do. Always. I ordered what sounded like Shrimp with Chili Paste, which is one of my go to's on a Thai restaurant but it turned out that this particular "homemade" chili paste was a sort of sweet chili paste. Yesterday was a bunch of little things that added up. But still I need to be more focused and diligent.
My restaurant slip ups are usually one bite too many. Fortunately I still feel restriction pretty well.
Not going to beat you up, looks like you have done that to yourself already. We all have days that we slip up the thing is that you realize it and know what you need to do. Eating to many carbs will make you feel hungry plus maybe you are not taking in enough calories since you do exercise like a demon. It's a new day forget what happened yesterday and get back into your routine. You have done a fabulous job so far and I know you can get to your goal - keep up the good work.
NOBODY is perfect...you come pretty close on most days but it always helps to know there are other very dedicated Sleevers that have their bad days as well. I love Frisco's comment about finishing what you started and I have no doubt you will. The important thing is that you realized it immediately and have the desire to stop it. Catching these situations before they turn into days or weeks of slipping is key.
Brush yourself off, do your monster workouts, stay at the lowest end of the carbs today and i bet your hunger goes away.
Good luck Keith and thanks for posting!
