Medical Questions ?

You can post anything you want...... it is an open online public forum.....

But please strongly consider asking medical questions to your surgeon/medical doctor.

This is a very real and serious surgery and can cause all kinds of havoc to your body from hormone and blood imbalances to blood clots, strictures, leaks and a thousand other things.

Would you ask your accountant why the brakes in your car aren't working......?

Just a suggestion......

I couldn't agree with you more Frisco!

Seeking medical advice online either through message forums like these or Dr. Google is frightening and concerning to me!

Didn't even need to open this one to know what this advice would be - and couldn't agree with you more!  Yeah, we can tell you if we felt similar pulling type pain, but isn't better to get reassured by the guy/girl you trusted to rip your gut open?  Just sayin!

Frisco, I completely agree with you (even though the post before yours is mine asking on a medical question.) I always ask my surgeon the question I post on here regardless of what others on here have told me.

I'm not sure if others here feel the same as I but when I come here its not to seek medical attention, it's mostly for understanding and support before calling my surgeon and just to know if others have gone through the same things.

I'm sick (seriously, I am. That's why my snark meter is off the dial). What can I take for a cold. My left side hurts. My head hurts. My back hurts. Green stuff is coming out of my nose. I have a cut on my foot. Hang nail. My hair has split ends.

Please Doc Frisco - heal me.

I think if you cut off your head you should get some relief!

Be well, my friend. I've had a nasty one, too. I'm on friggin' day 14 of my delightful cold! SUCKS!

Sorry you are sick, too you sweet thing. I am a horrible sick person. My hubby of awesomeness usually has to strap me to a chair because I will still try to do all the stuff around the house. He just yelled from the kitchen that I'm not allowed to mow the lawn. He knows me well. God, I love him.

Go see a doctor. That's too long to be sick without medical attention, imo.

Ah, it's a stupid virus. I'm on the mend. I'm now just in the residual snot phase. I hate it. Coupled with allergies it just sucks.

You're like me being sick. I have no time for it, so I just keep going. That's probably part of why this is lasting so damn long! Have I missed a workout due to having this? Hell no! Work? Not on your life! Sigh.....

I know it. I still went to karate, took my dog to the vet, volunteered in the library. My eating went in the ****ter last night, but today I don't feel like touching food. Sucks.

Here's to us both feeling better very soon.

Sounds like you have the cold from hell that I had for about 2.5 weeks. Mucinex works, expensive, but it does help with the congestion and cough. Nasal decongestants are helpful. On the positive side, it killed my appetite and I really had to focus on getting enough protein and calories. That hadn't happened since I was early out. Drink fluids, neti pot may help, Tylenol for the headache. Your symptoms are similar to what I had. My doctor told me, that it took about two weeks for him to recover from it. My energy level sucked too.

hugs. Hope your symptoms don't last as long as mine.
