Just when I was getting my evals done, insurance change.

I was progressing under my insurance, BCBS, but the hubs is now employed with Burlington Northern Sante Fe-United Health Care Choice Plus-and the deductible is so much lower I am going to cxl my insurance and go on his. I was going to be done with the nutrition eval Thursday! But now I am afraid I will have to start the whole process over.

That was a rant.....had to get that off my brain to vent. Hmmmmph.

As long as your PCP has it on file, you might be ok. I had this issue with Cigna and they covered me since I had my documentation. Good luck!

We switched insurance and my pre approval was denied bc they considered my weight issues a prexisting condition. Once I was able to show that I had had continuous insurance, pre approval was granted immediately. As long as you have documentation all should go well.

As long as you don't have a gap in coverage (regardless of carrier), you should be ok. You may have to hoop jump a bit to get everything in order, but this is where it's good to know if your surgeon has an insurance specialist. Mine did and, had it not been for her, I probably wouldn't have even had surgery! Make sure you're using your resources ;) But don't always trust that the insurance rep on the phone knows what they are talking about. It's their job to make money off of you, so don't be surprised if your insurance tries to find some way to deny you. Know your new policy by heart and go get 'em!!

Just make for certain his ins. covers it before you make the switch!   Unless his ins. has a strict process, you shouldn't have to start over, and even if his does, providing you were in a similar process with your ins. in most cases, the progress will carry over.

Wishing you the best of luck!

There are a lot of flavors of UHC Choice Plus. Be sure to get your contract and follow it to the T. If you do, you should have no trouble.

Good luck!
