1 Year Post-op - Before and After
I noticed the lose skin at first because you lose weight so rapidly that everything gets mushy. But that improved significantly over time. My stretch marks have stretch marks on my lower stomach but it is not near as bad as I expected it would be. Really it is just my lower stomach and deflated chest that have any issues and that is all something you can hide. A good bra does wonders to put the girls where they are suppose to be. I'm not wearing bikini's but a one piece covers up and reshapes most of the problem areas. Lands End has a great collection of slimming shape wear type bathing suits. I still have some fat in my stomach area. That area makes me a little nutty but luckily I can cover that up. With the right clothes no one else notices. I don't see doing any plastics for skin. If money was no issues I might consider a tummy tuck mostly because I have also had 3 kids so that has something to do with it also.
You are in the sweet spot where your loose skin shouldn't a huge issue. A lot of it depends on age and genetics. Be patient tho. It's kind of odd at first when everything sags and gets mushy. Keep reminding yourself that that WILL all pull up with time. It WILL keep improving even if you hit a stall and don't lose for a few weeks, your body will keep shrinking up as your skin adjusts.
I can't wait to SEE you in a year. That transformation is exciting and you are going to do GREAT!
Wow. Thank you for posting this. You look great, and it is such an inspiration to me. Congratulations on a job well done.

Thank you! I definitely recommend documenting your journey with pictures AND video. Do a LOT of that early! I know it is awkward and no one wants to look at those pre-op pictures. But it will be very important for you at those times when you feel like you are not making progress or when your brain just can't seem to register how much you have changed. You can't miss it when you put those pictures side by side. Keep some of your old clothes too. It's telling when you try those on later and they look ridiculous on you because they are so big.
I didn't do anything special except following my plan and keep up with my walking. My other piece of advice would be logging your food, start now if you haven't already. I use MyfitnessPal.com and it is a great resource. Even if you don't pay attention to the numbers, log anyway because there may come a point where you need to look at everything you are doing to make adjustments to maximize your progress.
I'm sure you will do GREAT! Can't wait to see your 1 year pictures!
