Just a silly question. Let's say we need 1800 calories to live but only take in 600, plus exercise at least 5 days a week for at least 60 minutes. can someone please explain why we stall or do not lose weight, beside the obvious reasons like our body is adjusting or we are retaining water.

I was told our bodies go into starvation mode like the caveman days....it holds on to every calorie in anticipation of not eating for a while....I thought the same thing how in the world can we not lose weight eating 400-500 calories:)

It helped me when I was told to read up on "glycogen" and how our body uses it and then needs to repleni**** Try reading up on it. I hope it helps you too.
