Carb Craving Crushed - Input on This!
You are doing just fine and will be at goal soon. The rough part is maintenance, not the first few years, but later. I can tell you this based on personal experience.
I did have some wine yesterday but...I am forming a strategy that I will post about later if I still think it works in a few weeks. I woke up to 107 even on a scale and that's pretty good for Monday morning. Two more pounds to go, I bet I can get there by Friday.
Sweet! My money is on you. Wine is actually a decent part of a weight loss strategy, especially red and if its only 1 glass. Tim Ferriss talks about it in his book The Four Hour Body and the slow carb diet approach. If I lived where you live it would be a daily thing for me. As it is I am around it enough but out there its part of the culture.
Hey check out the Ellman Family Vinyards right there in San Fran. They have a wine called Jemma that is my favorite red of all time. It is a meritage and all the grapes come from Napa and Sonoma. I met the two brothers who own the winery on my first post-op indulgence that I was duly scolded for, probably by you. But anyway, this is the best wine I have ever tasted and I have been to Napa a time or two.
I really liked all of their wines, but the Jemma was a clear stand out.
Check 'em out:
I will check that out. I am good friends with a wine rep for the local distributor and she can get me just about anything. I am due for a trip to Napa, maybe I will make it my reward for hitting goal, of course I will have to hit it again when I get back because there is no way I am going to Napa and not eating and drinking, that would be like going to church and not praying.
Skip Napa and go to Healsburg. It is my idea of haven on Earth. The town is small, and very quaint. There are hundreds of tasting rooms in walking distance from each other, the restaurants all have amazing food with some of the best chefs around and all pair their food (usually served tapas style) with great wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, and the wineries within driving distance are some of the most beautiful and closely packed together. I don't know your wife, but if she likes shopping and spas, there is more than she could ever do in a few weeks in tiny beautiful and tasteful boutiques. I could go on and on....but it is really an amazing place and all the adults walk around with silly grins on their faces. Who could blame them?
I am in on that! Thank god my wife does not like shopping and spas it would break me. She just cares about the wine and after her 2nd glass its really just about the alcohol. I will have to leave my daughter at home because she does like shopping and spas.
But this place sounds fantastic. I will definitely plan for that.
