This question is for Keith but really I'm open to all opinions so feel free to chime in....

I am running my first 10K on 9/8. I ran today and will run again on Monday and Thursday before the race on Sunday. I'm also getting ready to have BL/BA and LBL on 9/9 the day after the race. I've asked my surgeon permission and he gave me the green light as long as I promised to stay hydrated. My current plan is to drink a gallon of water on Thursday-Sunday. I'm also supposed to drink 32 oz of Gatorade on Sunday afternoon. Is this enough or do you think I should drink less/more?

That should be good depending ok how hot it is. Just gauge how you feel. Obviously if you are thirsty drink more. You could also drunk Smar****er in Sunday which has electrolytes in it as well, that's really what you are trying to get out of the Gatorade. Also consider eating some slow digesting carbs the day before the run like brown rice or oatmeal, it will give you a nice store if glycogen for the run. On the Gatorade if you don't want the carbs drink G2, the carbs in regular Gatorade is from high fructose corn syrup and that doesn't really help you in any way.
