It's Slow Sunday because I want you to take a break from all the intense cardio we have been doing and just go for a nice long walk. Reflect on where you have been, where you are, and where you are headed. Give yourself a pat on the back and give everyone who supports you in this process a hug and say thank you.

Let's Hear It!

Getting ready for week long trip to Jersey shore. Today packing, laundry, walking and stretching because muscles are sore. Plan to continue tons of walking swimming and C to 5k while away. 😄

After yesterday's 7 mile death march/run in the blazing heat I'm taking a friggin rest day and sitting my a** at the pool all afternoon! My husband asked me this morning what I had planned for our "should be" cross training day...the look of joy on his face when I said "let's take a break today" was priceless :). Back to the program tomorrow morning with a 3 mile run, leg press, shoulder press, and seated low rows!

Like the saying on the first one in particular! It's very true. We all need to start somewhere and just getting up and doing it is fantastic.

Me, I can 't decide if I'm working out today. I took yesterday off, but my Thursday and Friday workouts were super intense, so a two day rest might be good.

Great minds think alike. I killed it yesterday.  I did an intense spin class and tried to find my max heart rate (176). I have been able to get to 187, but that was a few years ago. I then cooled down with a swim and stretch in the pool with some water movements like jumping jacks and crunches. I did some weights for parts that weren't already sore before the spin class. So today, I thought to take it easy with a nice walk into town. It was about 5K and very hilly (Itu, Brazil). I used Map My Ride to get my distance and climbs. It told me I climbed about 800 feet and went 3.5 miles. Tomorrow I am back on the spin bike. I am traveling, but my hotel has a deal with the local gym and I get full access for about $6 per day. Brazilian spin classes are a hoot, because I speak very little Portuguese. They are yelling and gesturing wildly, but I watch what everybody else is doing and follow along. They have gotten used to me and I have shown them pictures of me on my bike back in Texas. Feeling great and getting in shape for my first 100K bike event in many years. Coming up on 9/21/2013. Wish me luck and safety!
