Break through...Clothes NSV...Crack Slaw...and ohhhh, so close!

Break through:  Happy that I finally broke my 10-day weight stall - whew!  I didn't get on here and whine about it (although I wanted to!) because I knew all of you would give me the advice that we've given to a hundred other members:  drink your water, make sure you get all your protein, track your food, watch the calories/carbs, exercise and remember if you're doing everything right it's water weight not "real" weight .   So I diligently took my measurements at the 3-month pre-op mark and will track those in the future if the scale stops again.

Clothes NSV:  I've had to bag up a lot of my stuff and give it away.  Yesterday I went shopping to get some decent work pants...and I went a little crazy.  It's the first time that I could shop on the Misses side rather than the Plus side at Dress Barn.  And I didn't even need the XLs!!  I could fit into size 14 pants and size L tops.  Now, I know they do vanity-sizing big-time there....but I don't care.  It was so thrilling that everything I tried on FIT and it looked GOOD!   I shouldn't ever need to go into a stinkin', over-priced Lane Bryant again :-)

Crack Slaw:  Made this for dinner last night.  Easy..cheap..and delicious!  Hubby loved it and we both took leftovers for lunch today.

Ohhhh, so close:  And most exciting - I'm just about 1 lb. from officially being "overweight" rather than "obese". SO EXCITED!!

Hi Tracy,

Congrats on all your progress! Isn't overweight great?

Have a great week, Katy

consult weight 241 (had not been accurately weighed for over 10 years, my medical records just said "wheelchair") high weight was probably closer to 260.

Thanks, Katy - and yes, it is great.  Especially since I haven't seen "overweight" for at least 25 years :-)

Wow.  Congratulations on all your accomplishments.  fitting into a size 14 is awesome.  I can't even imagine it.  Plus being close to "overweight"  rather than obese.  This is wonderful.

You are doing a great job working that sleeve.  Congratulations.

Carol

Congrats! One of the things I look most forward to is getting out of plus sizes. Yes, the weight loss is great for our health and my main reason for having the sleeve done last week. However, I want to look great being leaner too!!

And regular-size clothes are so much more affordable than shopping at LB or Avenue.  Ugh -- the $$ I have spent at those places as I went up and down sizes over the decades could have paid for my surgery.  LOL!
