Hi Frisco, what sizes are considered large and small?

Was not my intention to start a bougie size debate......search and you'll find plenty.....

The truth of the matter is that the VSG is not a standardized procedure and eventual capacity has a pretty broad range.

My point is that all sleeves should be treated with care, use it... don't abuse it.

Eventual capacity can range from 3oz. to over 12oz.which is a pretty wide range.

Success can happen with any size sleeve..... it's all dependent on patient compliance. Will a smaller sleeve help....... I think that answer would be quite obvious.

Hope this helps.

I have no idea what size bougie my dr used and I'm glad I don't.  I would probably use it as an excuse to eat more.  At 19 mo, I still can only eat 2-2.5oz of chicken or steak and 3 oz of fish with a little veggies and be very full.  My downfall into regain hell was allowing the junk back in.  A bite here, a bite there led to finding out that that **** just slides right down in much greater quantities.

I know this is an old post but it so powerful I thought it could use a little bump.  Love this!  This post literally made me stop in my tracks and really take a long hard look at my behaviors.  I even took what I brought for lunch today and split it in half.  I will see how the much smaller portions go.  Thanks again Frisco for such an awesome post!
