Feeling kinda achy and sore today, don't know from what. After Saturday's workout I pretty much worked at a des****il midnight last night. Probably from not moving. I did take the stairs twice today so that is 10 flights before 8:30am. Will probably do it again a couple times today.

I haven't decided if I want to do Orange Theory tonight or if I just want to go for a nice long run. I am thinking about doing a 10k on Thanksgiving Weekend so that gives me just 3 weeks to go from 5k to 10k. I figure if I run/walk it, I can probably do it.

So tonight will be either Orange Theory or a Run/Walk for 5 miles.

Or maybe I will run to Orange Theory and run home? That would be one hell of a work out but a lot of running. That would be 5 miles though.

Just finished week 7, day 1 of the beginner's running program you posted.  I never, ever, thought I could run 4 minutes in a row.  Even today when I got on the treadmill, I thought to myself - I don't think I'm ready for this, but I'll see how long I can go anyway.

2 minute warm-up, walking

4 minutes running, 1 minute walking, repeat 4 times

2 minutes recovery, walking

Fantastic! Its amazing what our body's can do if you let it.

Here's another one to try once you get a bit more used to running:

5 min walking warm up and then repeat the following 3 to 5 times:

30 second sprint

3 minute jog

30 second sprint

1 minute walk

This one really makes me sweat.

Sounds like something I can definitely do!  I already sweat buckets, so can't imagine more!

when I saw the surgeon last week they decided to let me try exercising. They suggested 5mins on the bike to see how my body responds that went well last week. So I did 10mins this morning and I will do another 10 this afternoon.

That's great! Keep it to cardio and flexibility until you are 8 weeks post-op. Anything less than that and you risk herniating your incision points and its not worht it (speaking from experience here).

This is the last week of just cardio.  Friday I meet with the fitness specialist at the DR's office.  He will review where I am at, do a strength workout  and let me know what type of strength training I can do.  I am very excited!

In addition, I signed up for  THE BIG CLIMB.  69 Flights up the Seattle Colombia Center in March.

Today-

30 min of cardio split between elliptical and stair master. :)
