Nice Snack: Kamut Puffed Cake & Hummus
I found these things calls Susie' Kamut Puffed Cakes (or something like that). They are like extra crunch rice cakes with a bit of a more hearty flavor. They are pretty good by themselves and really good with stuff on them, like peanut butter (natural no sugar added of course).
Today I brought some Sabra Roasted Garlic Hummus and it was even better, so here is the breakdown:
Kamut Cake - 22 calories/4 carbs (1 fiber, so 3 net if you are counting that way) and 1 g of protein, 0 fat
Hummus - (about 1 tbsp) 35 calories, 2.5 g of Carbs ( 1 fiber so 1.5 net), 2.5g of fat, 1g of protein
So total is 57 calories, 6.5 carbs (4.5 net) and 2 g of protein. Not a huge protein snack but very satisfying if you need crunchy and savory.

I am curious about Hummus, I read about people eating it as a snack often, but it seem to me to have a lot of fat in it. I remember looking at a container in the store once and was surprise at the number of fat gram . I think maybe because the fat grams are more than the protein or carb gram that seems bad to me ?
Good Healthy Fats. Don't be afraid of fat. Fat does not make you fat. You are trying to get into a fat burning mode so feeding your body fat is actually a good thing. Now that does not mean go crazy you still need a certain amount of protein and to stay within a calorie range but once you hit your protein target whatever you got left could be all fat but remember fat is 9 calories per gram so it adds up quickly. There are some benefits to certain types of fats too like coconut oil. Read my post from earlier today called Fat = Full???
