What's Your Workout Today VSGERS? - Saturday!
I went out last night and didn't get home until quite late or should I say early. There was food, there was drink, there was....well, that's all I am admitting to here.
I woke up this morning not wanting to go to my exercise class. I looked a bit scary, somewhat mole like as I staggered out of my bed and moved toward the coffee pot on sheer instinct. Yeah, one of those mornings. I looked a my schedule and the only thing I have going for today is my workout class. It was right there on my calendar taunting me about priorities and responsibilities and character. I wanted to turn the darn thing off and just go back to bed. But of course I didn't do it. I dressed in a fog and brushed my hair and wiped the last tell tale markings of last night off my face, put on a fake smile to cheer myself up and went.
I just came back from the most kick butt awesome class I have every taken. Every muscle in my body shook as I worked them to extremes. It was great, I feel better, and I am reminded of my mother's wisdom. She would always say to me, " Elina, in life, half the battle is just showing up. Don't forget to show up Elina no matter how tired or how down or anything else, just show up". My mother is amazing, awesome and wise. Her voice whispers in my ear when I want to quit, ' Just show up darling, just show up".
I've found that just putting on the workout clothes first thing in the morning, then taking that first step out the door is all it takes most days. It's all downhill from there.
Unfortunately, I've done something to my hip, and I can barely walk. I haven't gotten any exercise in 2 weeks between being sick and this damned hip, and feel terrible for it. I can't wait to get back to feeling that satisfaction again.

I really need someone to motivate me, because I can't seem to do it myself. I asked for my gym's personal trainer to call me to set up an appointment a few weeks ago, and I never got a call. So of course I took that as rejection and stayed away from the gym for the past few weeks. I went back today and the place was empty (I must remember to go at noon every Saturday!), so the gym attendant had time to go over some machines with me. Did some work on them, and spent 15 minutes on the elliptical.
I still want to meet with a trainer, so I suppose I'll give it another shot. I think having someone I need to answer to is what I need.
I wouldn't take it as rejection. Lots of things could have happened, wrote your phone number down wrong or lost the message. Don't take it personally. Look at the upside, you made it there yesterday! That's great. You just need to work toward the goal of going to they gym more days than you don't go in a week. Half the battle is showing up, once you are there you will work out. Having someone to motivate you is great but you can't rely on that either and to be honest the more you workout the more you will be motivated to go.
I did 45 minutes of low impact aerobics this morning (some of it with light hand weights) and then 30 minutes of weights/toning this afternoon. And took the dog for a nice brisk 15 minute walk, I guess that counts!
