So Far So Good!
Well I was surprised this morning to see that my weight is pretty much the same as it has been for the past 2 weeks. Given the time of year and my recent eating/drinking habits I was certain it would be up a bit. I have been trying to keep everything in check but holiday parties and impromptu celebrations have made it difficult. I have increased my exercise a bit and perhaps that is helping to keep it in check. I have pretty much resolved myself to staying in a holding pattern till the end of the year and then full court press to get off this last 20lbs. I have to have the 20 off for 1 year before any plastics, so it is getting time critical for me.
Is your ticker up to date? Seems like it's been holding around there and I wasn't sure because I know you work hard at it.
BTW, what will your BMI be at that goal? Was curious how your goal related to BMI.

My ticker is up to date. Been holding around the same weight for a while now. My BMI will still have me in the overweight category. I have resolved myself to that. I will not look good at the weight I would need to be to get into the normal category. My goal is not BMI based but percentage of body fat based. I would like to be at 12% with a longer term goal of 10%.
I like the body fat percentage approach also. Do you know what you're running around now? Are you measuring with calipers or different method?
I think in the end the only clear objective needs to be body fat percentage. I actually doubted whether I'd see a normal BMI because of that. But the month before goal everything tightened up and feel in line, which really surprised me.
i've been watching the body fat percentage pictures and so far they've been really close to my picture in the mirror. From what I can see, 10-12% would be too aggressive for me, but I know you're putting in a lot of fitness effort. I was looking for 17% with 15% stretch goal. I tend to do more cycling and cardio so figured those where achievable targets.

Not sure if this is a common experience on the board, but I have very consistent weight loss/gain patterns over the course of a year. Beginning in January, I ride the wave of weight loss that is so common for that time of year. This levels off typically by end of February. When the weather warms up I get in a lot of trouble, and predominantly from a significant increase in ice cream consumption. My summers go either way depending on if I am actively trying to lose weight. If not trying to lose, I usually gain. Without fail, when I return to school in the fall I lose. Holidays I tend to hold my own because I suppose I know the risk is so high of gain. Anyway, I think you have it right. Great goal to just maintain in the holiday, and go after it in January given how far out you are.
I would highly recommend fixing the hernia with the TT. Double up to reduce overall recovery time. I had no clue I needed a hernia repaired going into my TT, but very glad it was taken care of at the same time.
