My Surgery Date: 4 February 2014! Yeah!

I got my surgery date today: February 4th!  It's hard to imagine that a month from now, I'll be getting sleeved. I'm on the pre-op diet and rockin' a pretty vicious migraine/carb flu. Carb withdrawals are crazy, aren't they? I'm looking at it this way, I had to do it anyway because I'll own up to eating too much over the holidays which may or may not have involved a few bowls of my homemade cheese popcorn. Either way I'd have to detox. At least this time, I know it's gonna go somewhere and not end with me sobbing in April because I tortured myself with mad hunger and the gym for 4 months only to lose like 3 pounds.

YAY!  Congrats on your surgery date :)  I'll be getting mine done the day before you!  Just hit me that it was a month away when I read your post!  WOW closer than I thought!  We are gonna rock this sleeve! 

Hooray for you too! This will be great. Here's hoping neither of us has any complications to worry about. I'm confident I picked a good surgeon though.

I'm so excited! I made a bunch of broth out of some free-range organic turkey bones and organs I had left over from Thanksgiving, and froze all that into little ice cubes so I can take one out and heat it up anytime. I think I'll do the same with some of my other favorite puree soup recipes: tomato, cauliflower, broccoli, pepper, pumpkin, lentil, mushroom, hazelnut.

THAT'S RIGHT. FEEL MY EXCITEMENT, PEOPLE.

That's great news congrats! I know exactly what you mean about carb withdrawal... it sucks! I hope the time flies by for you... I bet the 4th will be here in no time!

That's awesome! We have the same surgery date! I completely understand how you feel about it being hard to imagine that in just a short month we will be changed forever. I'm SUPER excited and kind of wish time would hurry up, lol. You're on the pre-op diet already? How long do you have to do that? I start on the 21st for two weeks.

My pre-op diet is supposed to start on the 21, but knowing that it can take me 3-4 months to lose 10 pounds, I figured the sooner I start it, the better. Otherwise they would not be able to do my surgery on the 4th because I had not lost the required 3-5 pounds prior.

Oh, I see. My doctors and insurance don't require me to lose any weight before surgery. I just have to maintain until then. Hope time goes fast for both of us!
