Vitamin K
Do any of you have issues with Vitamin K levels? Which supplement do you take?
(I can't eat leafy greens, so this is something I'm looking into.)

I had my bloodwork done last week and I'm waiting on the results. Nice to know there are shots!

There are several variants of Vitamin K - K1 has to do with blood clotting. Another (K2 of which there are many sub-types, mk4 and mk7 being the most known) works in conjunction with D and Calcium...
K2 (MK-7) is found mostly in fermented foods like sauerkraut, and kimchi. Taking antibiotics can decrease the amount of vit K2 you get - it's also manufactured by bacteria in your gut, which can be wiped out by antibiotics - which you probably got a lot of during surgery and recovery.
D helps take calcium from the gut to blood and Vit K helps to direct calcium away from soft tissues while directing it to the bone - some think that being K deficient will allow your body to deposit calcium in bad places, like heart valves and plaque on your teeth, instead of where it's supposed to go (bones).
You need to know which you are having an issue with...

It seems that you and I have done similar research into Vitamin K!
Have you needed to supplement at all? If so, which K supplements have worked well for you?

Despite taking calcium supps I was found to have osteopenia after a DXA scan last summer (did the scan for body fat % - but they found the osteopenia). My physician upped my D, and I had that tested and that's normal... I did some research and started adding K2 a few months ago. I won't know anything for sure until I do another DXA as far as the bone loss goes, but the D and K2 combo should help get the calcium to go where it needs to go.
I've been taking Jarrow MK7. Also added grass fed butter which is supposed to be a source as well.
