I remember a period where anything I at made me queasy.  I think it was probably about 1 to 2 months post surgery.  It did pass.  I suspect your taste buds will return to normal soon.

best wishes

Carol

When your body is in Ketosis sometimes a result is the metallic taste.  You want your body in ketosis because that is when it is burning   fat.  The metallic taste will go away and foods will start to taste normal again...I promise!

Everyone's mentioned ketosis. The thing about ketosis is that you notice the bad taste for a few days, and then it goes away. This is because your body gets more efficient at burning the fat, and then fat becomes your "preferred fuel", and you breathe out less of the ketones that give you bad breath and sometimes a "coated" tongue. So, it will pass, and so will the "everything tastes gross" syndrome. Especially when you're able to eat actual healthy food and not crappy pre-packaged factory-made fake food items like canned soup and protein powder.

If you are in ketosis, this is a good thing! It means you're burning fat, like you should be.

A lot of people confuse the term "ketosis" with "diabetic ketoacidosis" which is NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL. Ketosis is good; the other thing is life threatening. Don't ever let anyone confuse you by saying you need to see a doctor right away if you think you're in ketosis. They only say that because they're getting their words mixed up. (I used to read that all the time in low-carb forums. It's maddening.)

Thank you for all your responses and concerns.  I am pushing on. I am sipping the protein shakes,  water, and juice. I am not going to worry about the rest until this taste pass. If that is all I can complain about, I am going to hush. Grateful.

I'm almost 4 weeks out and I had the same problem. It will go away, you're probably in ketosis. Hang in there!
