I'm So Ready

My birthday is on the 11th and, since I'll be in pre-op diet mode then, I'm having birthday dinner with my favorite people tonight.  This is pretty exciting for me!  However, we're due for this big snow storm tonight and now I'm all worried that my pre-op endoscopy will have to be cancelled (on Tuesday) due to snow and then rescheduled which will delay my surgery (Mar 13th) - as if I wasn't worried enough about this endoscopy!  (The initial one in January found an ulcer that I've been treating since then and this endoscopy is to make sure it's gone.)  So I can use all the crossed fingers there are - both to ensure that my procedure isn't cancelled and to ensure that the ulcer is gone!

Yesterday, while putting away laundry, I decided to do some closet organization and clothes inventory.  I knew I had a lot of jeans from previous sizes and I was curious about what I had.  Well, apparently it's size, not sizes.  I'm a 28 now and have two pairs of jeans.  But for some unknown reason I've got about 12 pairs of 26s.  Super useful, eh? :P  I also organized my t-shirts by size so I'm prepared.  I've got a lot of XXLs, which I currently wear, but also a fair number of XLs which I can wear when I'm feeling good about my body.  My partner has a number of Ls that he no longer wears and also Ms and Ss, so I figure I can raid his side of the closet once I "ungrow" the XLs in my side.

Once I hit 24, I'm hoping to just buy a pair of jeans every other size or so.  And bras.  I'm definitely planning on buying well fitting bras throughout the weight loss process.  As Tim Gunn would say, undergarments are very important!

Seriously though?  I'm so close to this I just feel like screaming all the time since there's so much excitement built up in me like steam in a teapot.  I just need to make it through Tuesday's endoscopy and then I'm golden!

Sounds like you are ready! I hope your endoscopy doesn't get cancelled... fingers crossed for you! I did the same thing with my clothes... right now I wear 2x in shirts/26 in pants. I went through a bunch of old stuff and I have tons of size 18 jeans and size xl shirts. When I can't fit into those anymore, I guess it's time to go shopping. I'm excited for you.. you will do great! Have fun tonight and be safe... I'm in the midwest and we are being hit too!

Thank you, thank you!

Were you size 18/XL for a long time?  I'm wondering if that's why I've got so many 26s - I think I was that size for forever!  I sort of wish I hadn't been so on top of getting rid of smaller sizes when I outgrew them on the way up to where I am now, since it sure would be nice to still have them around as I ungrow on the way down!

I think I was that size for a long time because that's all I seem to have. I also remember getting depressed about my weight and donating a lot of clothes so that could be the problem too, lol. Oh well. I plan on trying to shop sales/thrift stores whenever I grow out of all my clothes. It will also be nice to clean out my closet!

I am so looking forward to the Great Closet Clean Out of 2014 :D

And I'm totally with you on the thrift stores.  There are a number of them in my town so I figure they'll all get to know me through this process.  I've also signed up for Gwynnie Bee, which I hope will help.  And there's this place called "Closet Mentor" near my parents' house that seems like it might be interesting to check out.  In addition to clothes they've also got "style consultants" to help you find things that work.  Could be cool since I really only wear t-shirts and jeans and "style" is a pretty foreign concept to me.

I hope your procedure goes as scheduled! I wear a uniform at work, and it takes 45-60 days to get a new order in.  Glad I also have to wear a belt since the order I place today should be what size I can wear 2-3 months from now.  Impossible. Just going to cinch the belt & look like a bag of smashed buttholes until I'm done!  Salvation army is wonderful.  One day a week, everything is 50% off except for one specific colored tag.  Wishing you the best!
