One hour of Orange Theory today. Yesterday not only did I do my Orange Theory class but I also did a chest workout at my regular gym AND I went for an hour long walk with the dog. Thinking about Leg Day tonight and maybe another walk.

I worked out today...what did you do?

Let's Hear It!

I've had really minimal gym time because of my current work/school/kid's schedule, but I've been doing my very best to squeeze it in. I found a small window of time where I'm free. I leave work at 4pm and don't have to pick my first child up until 5pm across town. I managed to haul ass to the gym and get 30 minutes of cardio in, dips for my arms and 5 minutes in the sauna yesterday. Even picked my son up 5 minutes early. So there! Doing it again tonight.

Orange Theory is a HIIT Training Program that tracks your heart rate where gray is light heart rate, blue is moderate, green is fat burn, orange is 83% and above and red is 94% of max heart rate. The idea being if you are "In the Orange" for 15-20 mins in an hour session that you get 24 to 36 hours of "after burn" where your body continues to burn calories at a higher rate than resting.

Plus its a very addictive workout because its always different.

I did a continuous half hour of aerobics! I have had a hard time exercising because of muscle spasm, so, this is a first for me. Felt really good to be able to do stuff again. I plan to get tougher on the workouts next month when I'm 8 weeks out.

I did a heavy lift day w/ some HIIT on the treadmill afterwards (my legs are dead).

I was planning a 2 mile run, but only had 15 minutes left, so had to switch over to the sprints.  The silly snow can limit my time, but can't stop me completely!

I completed 1 1/2 mile walk in 34 minutes.  I am getting better.  I do this every weekday to get exercise.  Is this enough or should I be doing more?

I did 15 minutes on the elleptical that thing really kicks my butt.  I did 30 minutes of treadmill with arms flailing like I was a long distance swimmer (I always heard to lift the arms above heart area), and at quite an incline-- I'm sure I look ridiculous, but who cares!  Then I did some weight lifting.  I think I'm ready for some type of aerobic class, maybe zumba??
