Hi: OH family. We are a special group of people, no matter what others may or may not think of us. WLS is not the easy way out, as some may think. It takes courage, determination and unwillingness to give up. We are all here because we’ve struggle trying to lose weight but to no avail. I was one that tried for years all types of diets and programs with very little success. You could have called me Yo Yo and I would have not been offended, because that was all I was doing with my eating, up and down. After a terrible car accident I gained 50lbs while in the hospital for three months and then three months in a rehabilitation center. Went into the hospital weighing 185lbs and came out weighing 235lbs, wow. After many surgeries, plus two total knee replacements, I reached my highest weight of 275lbs. I have fully recovered from all my injuries, and now I have been given this wonderful tool called VSG. Life is good at 66 y/o I thank God that he has given me a second chance at life. Never give up, stay strong work that sleeve, reach your goals and Live the life you never knew before VSG. Newbie’s call on us, we are here to help, Vets thank you for all your support and advice. Thanks for sharing your story, 88. I struggled with spinal injuries for years and gained a lot of weight as well. This surgery was my blessing. I am trying hard to work my sleeve to the fullest!

Thanks for sharing 88 ! I'm so happy I came across this site at the time I needed the most.  I had my sleeve on March 3rd 2014 and all feels like a movie.  I'm home now recovering. ..so far pretty good. Of course few changes but nothing I can't live with.   Thanks for all the vet support !

We continue to need that bull dog tenacity to win this battle as it occurs everyday.  This site and people help keep me on track. At 64 I thought I could never be a normal weight again- Surprise!  I get closer everyday.
