Excited for my second chance
Hi everyone
I never really post on here but I am always reading everyone's posts all day long. Let me just say I am totally over whelmed with information but worth it to keep reading. Enough of that, I got the call yesterday that my surgery was approved to have the VSG. I am so thankful to be given a second chance. I was scheduled august 2012 for the RNY but backed out at the last second. There is no turning back now I am ready to take on the changes of a new healthy life. It feels like Christmas in May :). I have my first apt June 18th then from there we will book the surgery date. Ok that's my happy for today. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend. Thanks in advance for reading my pos.
Congratulations on the approval! I'm a week and a half from my surgery date and alternate between wishing it was already done to wondering if I should wait and try this liquid diet a little longer. What made you change your mind the first time out?

Everyone has fears. Take this 2nd chance to the limit with making sure you get some counseling. It would really help you realize what has held you back. And perhaps fear of the actual surgery isn't the reason at all?
This is a great site! I'm celebrating my 5th year the end of this month, and I still can't believe it. I learned SO MUCH from the 'then' old timers, it was unbelievable. Especially if you're a single person and perhaps don't have a huge circle of support--you'll always hear support from Obesity Help. It might not be what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. We've all done it, we've all had mostly the same ride, but we're still individuals and we want to help anyone that asks for it (and some who don't) and kick the butts of those who need a wake up call. Sometimes just sitting back and thinking about all that's on here is enough to instill a new way of thinking, of eating, of enjoying life's daily pleasures and going foward postively.
You are going to have Christmas early this year, my dear! Every day will be a new gift. Enjoy this adventure.
