So, I have not screamed it from the rooftop that I have had surgery. I have no problem telling the people I want to know that I've had. I dont want to go into the details however with people I do not know. When those types of people ask me I just say I have been dieting and exercising - as I really dont like talking about myself anyway.

I understand that you dont want to talk about it later, which is totally understandable. But, me personally, I would probably only send 1 group message to the people I was going to see with the details. Reason, not only are they going to ask about how you feel, what you are doing, then it goes into medical questions and surgery blah blah blah. Let them know you had it, that you will be eating/drinking minimally and you would hope that they won't bring attention to it - this way others don't start asking additional questions about it. That's one of the biggest things i struggle with - when people ask why i am eating so little or drinking so little. It's none of your f'n business LOL. Not that i won't tell them, i just dont feel like talking about it or explaining myself. The more attention brought to it the more it doesn't feel "normal" to me - if that makes sense.

And yes! 80 pounds is something! Believe me! I am 6 months tomorrow, down 70 pounds. Although I still look in the mirror and say i dont see a difference, there is definitely a difference. People notice it..i see it in pictures. I feel it when i sit down or tie my shoes. I can actually hug my knees know comfortably lol. I can cross my legs...everything! And of course people will care and you will get a flux of positive comments that are so motivational! You want to scream it from the roof tops - go buy all new clothes look smoking hot, walk with your head up. People will feel your excitement and you will be exerting confidence!

Having people comment on what I'm eating is very weird - luckily I haven't had that experience more than once or twice so far, since the people I tend to eat with also tend to be the few people I told pre-op.  They do ask questions, but they're the "hey, I'm curious and want to know what your new lifestyle involves" sort of questions, so that's totally fine.  So far at least!  :D

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it :D
