Hair loss
My hair loss stared at 3 months and pretty much stopped at 6-7 months..
I had thin hair to begin with so it was very noticeable especially around my temples..
i cut it into a cute pixie that now that I don't have a big moon face, I can totally pull off!!
I started taking biotin 5,000mgs a day right after surgery, and I am happy to report my hair came back,
stronger and thicker than it's been in YEARS!, even the hubby noticed!
My hair loss started at 3 months post-op, and continued for at least 3 months. At 5 months, my hair was noticeably thin, and I could see my scalp on top and along the part. I started using a body foam and blow-drying my hair to make it look fuller. I was able to manage it, but thought about buying a wig! There were no bald spots but it was noticeably thin. At about 8 months post-op, I noticed a crop of short hairs sticking straight up on my head. I was so happy to see it that I didn't even mind that I looked scruffy! By one year out, my hair was back to normal.
It wasn't fun, but it was short-lived. And the weight loss is forever! I did take biotin supplements, and was careful to get my protein in, but I don't think either helped much. Its just part of the process.
best wishes.
