Before surgery planning cooking question

Its cold rainy and yucky here so I'm inside watching football and cooking. I go for pre-op/post op instruction Tuesday. With that being said what can I do now and prepare? I'm making vegtable beef soup, chili and chicken noodle soup for post surgery so my parents will be fed. Can I use any of the broth or stock post op??

Sure!  And I had chili puréed once I got to that stage :)

Homemade broth and stock will be great in the liquid phases!

Thanks so much for your quick response! I'd rather plan now and have homemade instead of store bought!

broth is great as long as it is well strained , I would limit the salt in it as it might make you thirsty

I'm pre-op.  I love Olive Garden's Minestrone soup.  Even just the broth.  Would that be something I could have if I strained out the solids?  It has little spices in it, are those ok, or does it have to be completely clear like chicken broth?

That should be fine.  Is your post-op diet clear liquids or full liquids?  It needs to be see-through for clear liquids.
