I'm doing the Rock N Roll in DC in March and my "plan" is to do 5ks for a year. There's a race that my partner is doing in September that doesn't have a 5k attached to it, it just has a half marathon and a 5 miler, so I hope that after 4 5ks, I'll be able to tackle the 5 miler :D

CONGRATS! You must be so freakin' proud of such an incredible accomplishment! OMG! Way to go!!! 
I'm planning on doing a 5K in the spring to celebrate my 45th birthday and (hopefully!) getting to goal... or close to it. But I think I need to register and pay my fees to get myself truly motivated. Good plan! And thank you for the tip!
I have a friend *****searches the medals and only runs races that have "cool" medals... or so she thinks. Might be another way to look at all these races that are available and pick and choose the fun ones!
